Role/ Job Description:

–        Leading the entire Fire protection system and PHE (Plumbing) Engineering activities to carry out fire design work based on standard company procedure / other procedures, methods outlined.

–        Should be able to prepare Basis of Design for, Master Plan, Concept, Schematics, fire tank and pump room planning, Raw water, domestic and flushing water tank planning.

–        WTP/STP requirement.

–        Rainwater harvesting and recharge pit requirement.

–        Technical guidance to Designers/Draughts persons to carry out Fire Protection design work as per the requirements of the Project.

–        Material specification knowledge all fire protection and PHE items to prepare BOQ.

–        Should be able to do cost estimation of FPS and PHE Packages.

–        Procurement activity for fire protection items covering preparation of enquiry specification, review of technical offer and preparation of TR, preparation of order specifications.

–        Guiding a team of designers in 2D / 3D fire and PHE engineering, review of 3D model and review of layouts and MTOs extracted from the model.

–        Participate in discussions with the client, as necessary.

–        Timely completion of designs, requisitions, and engineering deliverables.

–        Working within company manhours and budgets.

–        Meet client expectations and maintain long-term relationship with client.  Attend to client’s feedback and any complaints.

–        Visiting sites for residual engineering / resolving site queries.

–        Coordination with various stake holders like Client / various internal disciplines like projects / Piping / mechanical / architect / civil / vendors for effective engineering management.

–        Fire Protection engineering activities to carry out All fire Protection design work based on OISD, NFPA, TAC, NBC, IS standard / Insurance agency Standard like FMG, AXA, GAP etc. for data centre projects.

-For PHE work to carry out all PHE work based on NBC, IS Std,

 

–        UPC, IPC, etc.

–        Should possess a very strong communication skill.

–        Adherence to Dept./Discipline Working Instructions and Quality Systems as per MNC standard.

–        Overview of work progress and work-hour usage.

–        Capability to handle all technical meeting independently.

– Technical knowledge about installation of all fire protection systems.

 

Minimum job requirement:

A degree in Mechanical Discipline with Minimum 5-7 years in Fire protection and PHE Department of an Engineering consultancy organization specializing projects in data centers and Site master planning of such projects. Candidate should possess knowledge in carrying out basic and detailed engineering work. The experience can be from any data centers/commercial buildings/industrial sector.

Candidate should have knowledge of following:

–        Design and Layouts with inputs from Process Engineering, Process Mechanical, Civil & Structural, and other Engineering disciplines and fulfilling client stated requirements.

–        Be able to provide solutions with very little inputs from clients.

–        Have working knowledge with Standards such as NBC, IS, TAC, NFPA, FM requirements, and UPC/IFC code requirements.

–        Compulsory user knowledge of Software such as Autodesk AutoCAD, Microsoft Office.

–        Preferred user knowledge of additional Software tools such as Autodesk Revit, Auto CAD-2015

–        Knowledge of Hydraulic Calculation Software Like Pipe net.

–        Be open to get training on in house tools and proprietary software and tools and utilize for efficient workflow in organization.

–        Reviewing all aspects of design and construction for consistency and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review technical requirements of client’s specifications and ensure that agreement is reached on the basis of design. Participate in discussions with the client, as necessary

Monitor that work and progress are in compliance with the project requirements and schedule.

Maintain contact with other disciplines/groups to ensure:

–        Project Manager and/or Engineer are aware of problems of progress delays.

–        Proper interchange of information.

–        Proper interchange of documents

-Interface is correctly defined.

DESIGN RESPONSIBILITIES:  

The person must have sound knowledge of following systems w.r.t design (As per above mentioned codes), constructability and maintainability.

–        Hydrant Layout.

–        Sprinkler System (Process Building and Warehouses).

–        MV Spray system and HV spray system

–        Foam Flooding system.

–        Extinguisher Layout.

–        Gas suppression system (Like FM200, NOVEC123,IG541 etc.).

–        Storm water drainage.

–        Rainwater harvesting/recharge pit.

–        Sanitary drain (internal and external) and

–        Water supply (internal and external)

Skills:

–        Knowledge of Fire and PHE codes and standards is mandatory.

–        Knowledge of IS/ NBC /NFPA/FM/ UPC/IPC standards.

–        Knowledge of 3D engineering, proficiency in review of 3D models using Navisworks is mandatory.

–        Calculations of pump head

–        Water demand calculations.

–        Storm water and rainwater calculation.

–        Pipe sizing.

–        Gas suppressions design and calculations.

–        Water mist design.
